Spiral Mushroom || Discovered by || Research || Spencer Art || Holly Test Dummies || Barry & Holly || Appearance || The stem and ring are grey in color. On mature mushrooms, there's sometimes spots and bumps that may grow. The cap has a lighter purple color to it with a pink spiral on the top. The spiral may have a slight glow to it. Mature mushrooms will have small glowing spores, are those baby mushrooms or just a thing? Gills are a brownish color. The appear to grow in clusters, quite a few and all different stages. The taller, the older they appear. ||Variations || There appears to be only one type of Spiral Mushroom. || Size || Average mature mushroom cap is about two inches (five cm) wide and five inches (12.7 cm) long. || Toxicity Level || Harmless to consume, suggested not to consume raw. [Barry side note; see benefits to why you should ; ) ] || Lifespan || Spiral Mushrooms can stay rooted for several months, but is often consumed by wildlife before there's too many in the cluster. Uprooted, they can survive for a few weeks as long as they're placed in a dry location. || Habitat || Typically found along the underbrush of forests. Very rarely in the open fields. Not that hard to find at night, but it's not suggested due to gnoll attacks. || Active Seasons || They appear more in soggy/damp soil. Usually in soils rich in plant debris. So... Spring, summer and fall? || Benefits || DO. NOT. EAT. RAW. Consuming raw will have hallucinogenic reactions!!! They appear to be different for each person? Not sure why but a few reactions I've seen are + Altered perception of time/space + World may appear to be fake or a dream + Rapid mood changes, sometimes very sensitive + Increased hearing and eyesight + The ability to taste color and sounds? + Dizziness, nausea, fatigue, yawning + Attention problems + Nervousness/anxiety + Personality shifts + Uncontrollable paranoia and reckless behaviors It appears not every trip is the same. Some are worse than others. The worse the case, the longer the trip last. Barry has claimed to see "Floating Spots" for a couple weeks following his first raw consumption, long after his trip had ended. Cooking Baking the mushrooms and then consuming will often have health benefits to having a better mood and help clearing a busy head. They can help with calming anxiety. Drinking them without baking/brewing will not have these health benefits. || Tidbits || Spencer's tidbit, don't consume raw. Don't let children handle this... I'm sorry.... Barry's tidbit, don't listen to speener |
